Hung still <3 Food

Sooooo after we came back from our trip, I can't say we have done too many interesting things. Since after we came back everyone had pretty big assignments, papers, projects, and other things due, we were pretty tied down. Once March rolled around it was even busier, as I found out today March is known as "HELL MONTH", since every single class chooses this week for all of the main projects, presentaions, papers, and other things to be done. We did manage to get a few interesting things done though.

The first interesting thing we did was go to the famous street market called "BUGIS". If anyone comes to Singapore and is looking for time to waste, have a few hundred dollars to spend, and want to shop shop shop for cheap cheap cheap clothes then Bugis is the place to go. I personally didn't want to spend as much as I spent that day, but I spent ALOT of damn money on clothes that day ... However, of course, everything I got was wicked cool and cheap, so I got quite ALOT of stuff. It wasn't just me though, everyone else got stuff too ... I think i just got the most though. Sorry guys, I totally forgot to take pictures today, but I did manage to find two ... kind of interesting ones.

Moving on to something else, all four of us are in a class together about Singapore Architechure and there is a big group project that we have to present on. We are teamed with another two people in our group and they are locals. I feel kind of bad for them, because we are on a pass-or-fail basis and they are not, so we aren't really giving it all we should and they kind of are ... sooooo lets just hope the best for them and thier marks =) Anyways, we are doing the project on a Singapore building called the Esplanade - Theaters on the Bay. It's a pretty funny shaped building, it looks like two DURIANS, no joke, it seriously does ... I love durians. The bulding itself is an Art and Theater building, it's cool. So we had to go to building to take some pictures of the architeture detailing, we were supposed to meet up with our group other members at 2pm ..... but, we ended up being late (-_- '). Anyways here is what the building looks like from the roof.

Pretty sweet hey?

So after we got all of our pictures we ended up eating lunch ... I mean Dinner (More like Dunch or Linner, if such things exist), at a place called "Billy Bombers", it's pretty much like Wendy's or Pete's in Calgary, but more Denny's-ish. We all decided to get Burgers. They all looked good and I'm pretty sure, can't say about the others, they were all good too, mine was really good atleast!

No Idea what everyone else got and not too sure what I got, but if I remember correctly I got black pepper cheese, jalapenos, red pepper flakes, and a good patty of beef burger. Oh and of course Chai-Ying got a veg burger, thats an eazy remember =)

Hmmmmm what else did we do recently .... nothing, nothing, nothing ... OH I bought these really good Japanese candies XD! They are chewy like gum, I miss gum, but they dissolve after a while of chewing. There are many flavors too! here are some of them:

Really Really GOOD candy!

After that we didn't do much ... except pretty much eat at the coolest retaurant ever. So the question is why was 6 afraid of 7? because 7 ate nine! HA HA that answer was the name of the restaurant we went to, wicked hey? So we made reservations for "7atenine" at 8pm but there were some major malfunctions in communications between Tony and Chai ...... soooooooo we ended up being late, we had to call and delay our appointment but 45 mins (-_- ') haha. Yeah, I know! two times in one week hey? Its okay though no one got hurt in the comminication malfuction.

So we arrived at the resturant, which is situated in the Esplanade - Theaters the Bay building that I explained earlier, and we were seated inside.

The Atmosphere within the dinner area was pretty relax and calm. The waiters and waitresses were professional looking and looked genuinely nice. To our surprize the resturant was more of an appetizer-bar type thing. The menu suggests that people order 3, 5, or 9 courses between the group to share.

So as the menu suggest we all got 3 or 4 courses and as our waitress read our order back to us I was appauled by how many courses we had all gotten together XD! So I kindly asked the lady if she thought that was too much food, HA HA she smiles and says "Yeah, it's probably too much for you guys, you have too many starchy items which are too filling". So we ended up emliminating two or three of our dishes and got the total count to 12 courses in the end, I believe.

Well this is it everyone, get ready to be bombarded with a whole bunch of pictures of good damn god given food! It WAAAAAS 12 courses after all. Oh and I advise those of you who have well working salivary glands to get some tissue paper ready.

First Course: Maguro(Tuna) Tataki - Lighty seared on the edges, spinkled with a little sea salt, and dressed with deep fried scallions. This stuff melts away in your mouth, no chwewing needed at all.

Second course: Simple yet not, the classic mashed potatoes. These potatoes didn't even taste like potatoes, it was more like butter, cream and and starch on the side, yum yum!

Third Course: Maguro(tuna) and Salmon Sashimi. Can't go wrong with sashimi! Is was really cool because the sashimi slices came on moist rocks, the wasabi was rolled into a ball, and the soy suace came in an eye dropper.

Fouth Course: '7atenine' Signature Salad. Very simple salad with an asian twist, I don't quite remember the dressing but they added corn pieces for that extra kick and to top it off more delish maguro(tuna) sashimi.

Fifth Course: Open Faced Crab Sandwich. I don't even have to describe the crab and the bed it was sleeping in, just the bread that it was situated on was a party in my mouth *drool*

Sixth Course: Sizzling wings. One of Tony's all time favorite foods, so he had to order the wings as soon as he saw it on the menu. This course came with a mayo-vinegarette concoction for the sauce and just that alone made this courses really good!

Seventh Course: Grilled Eggplants Topped with Roasted Almonds. There were a few other things mixed into the topping of this course but I don't recall them all. Anyways it was the taste that counts and they course was surpizingly really good. I would have never thought that almonds would go well with eggplants, there was a really sweet taste coming from the nuts and the mixing it with the eggplant which was also sweet almost made it a dessert.

Eighth Course: Calamari with Cocktail Sauce. This course was really weird looking at first. The calamari was stacked into two towers, but they were black?! (o_O') It turns out that they were really good though! The shell was really crispy and the squid was as tender as chicken!

Nineth Course: Beef Sashimi Topped With Tomatoe and Onion Salad and Parmasean Cheese. I think it was Parmansean atleast ... Anyways I think this was my favorite course of the night! The Beef was so thinly sliced I could actually see though it. I've never had beef sashimi before with cheese, and once again to my very big surprise the two went very well together. The beef itself was almost tasted like butter. <3<3<3>

Tenth Course: Chicken .... haha no idea what was on the chicken. It was mostly stir fried vegetables and I think there was chashews on it. Tony didn't like this course too much, but I thought it was fairly good, just the average chicken course that you could have gotten at other place though.

Eleventh Course: Lamb Cutlets. Hmmmm it was a questionable course to me. The Lamb was a little to tough for me but the flavor was definitely there. I love lamb though so what the heck?

Twelfth Course: Risotto Topped Off with A Prawn and Bacon. Everyone loved this dish too bad it came at the end of our dinner when everyone was stuffed. None-the-less, the rice was very buttery and creamy, very good stuff.

Sooooooooo, that was our great dinner feast at 7atenine! Jealous Guys and Girls? It was really really good =P!

PS: We wanted to all be princesses that night and decided to end it off with some dessert, so we got a 13 course!!!!! Yes you heard me a thirtenth cousre. We decided to get some churros! The Dough was a little undercooked which made it taste like mini doughnuts (can't wait for K-days!!!) and the accompanying chocolate sauce tasted like ferrero rocher. <3<3
