Chai-Ying!

hello everyone =) It's been a while since I posted...haha. Hmm so continuing on from the KK trip...

The next day (Sunday February 22, 2009) we visited the infamous Sunday market!!! We woke up bright and early (well kind of...lol) and had a delicious breakkie at the resort. We hired a driver from the resort to take us around until 3pm that day, so the plan was to go to the Sunday market and then to the super popular shopping mall called "One Borneo".

Coming out of the resort....=)

It took us a while to get out to the market because our resort is pretty far from the city. When we got there, our driver told us we only needed about an hour, but when we got to the market, we realized how big it was!!! For those of you who plan to make it out to KK, you'll defintely need at least 2 hours at the Sunday market--don't let the drivers tell you otherwise! Due to this, we didn't have time to take pictures because we spent the majority of our time HAGGLING! WELL most of us barter...some of us pay the asking price....DEBBIE! lol Anyways, the market was pretty cool--they sold veggies, dessert items, dogs and cats (as pets...lol), and touristy trinket things. Haha I tried to practice my Malay when I was haggling because I wanted to get a good deal, so when I was trying to get Tony a hat, I kept saying"Dua-Belas" which I thought meant 20...apparently it means 12. HAHA. Well Tony got it for 18, so whatever. =) We ended up buying quite a bit that day--lots of magnets, teeshirts, key chains, etc. Tony and I got some super sweet passport holders too!

Our next stop was 1Borneo!!! Apparently its the "largest shopping and enterntainment mall in Sabah." Meh. It was okay, maybe it was because we weren't in the mood for shopping, some of the stores were closed (it was Sunday), and we were all pretty tired. Nevertheless, we did some damage. I got some sandals at this shoe store called "Vincci", omg I love that store!!! It's hugeee and the sandal options are endless. It's all pretty affordable too! My sandals were only about 32 Ringgit (divide by 3 for CDN). Sorry guys, its an all woman shoe store. =) Oh yea, we hit up Watson's (it's kind of like a shoppers drug mart) and got some GUM!!! As most of you know, gum in Singapore is illegal...but we were in Malaysia! We each bought a pack and chewed immensely for the next couple of days. Haha.

P.S. I was on the MRT (Singapore LRT) the other day, and someone stepped on my new Vincci sandal and the front looks stupid now. THANKS guy with blue shirt. Thanks. =(

1Borneo!

There's a hotel connected to it too!

It was time to go back to the resort, and after we showered and relaxed a little bit we decided to order some room service. Apparently no one wanted to use their camera that day, so we didn't take any pictures. Anyways, Debbie had some spring chicken,Tony got hainanese chicken rice, Hung got a burger, and I got this really reallly reallllly good hor fun! For dessert, I got Malacca Sago Gula...I hope I said it right lol. It consisted of white tapioca on a plate with milk and syrup on the side--it was soo good!!!! I'm surprised we didn't gain 50 pounds each. haha.

Hmm what else did we do that night...oh we watched the disney channel =) "Cheetah Girls-One World" was on...the kareoke version. Tony was trying to sing and dance to it. If any of you guys know or have seen the movie, you'll know why this is sooo funny.HAHAHAHAHA. Oh what a day.

I think Debbie or Tony should post now! har har. no seriously, you guys should post.
