Chai-Ying (loves orangutans!)

Hello hello! Hope the new semester is treating everyone well =) No one has posted in a while, so I'll try my best and give you guys a quick update on whats been going on since Sakae Sushi.

Last Friday, we went to a street market and the food there is amazing...and a little weird. I ordered a shrimp burger from a hocker stall, and they wrapped the patty in egg, hot sauce, mayo, and soya sauce. It actually tasted prettty darn good! By the way, food here is ridiculously cheap! A whole day of food will only cost you about $8SGD.

This past weekend we went to the NIGHT SAFARI and ZOO. If you guys ever decide to come, wake up early and have breakfast with the orangutans, it is soo worth it! Unfortunately, my internet is running slow and I'm also just super lazy, so pictures of our zoo-tastic weekend are on facebook--team aniston just posted some.

At the night safari, we watched a Tribal Fire Dance and one of the "actors" decided to get a volunteer from the audience to blow a dart at another actor who was holding a balloon between his legs. They didn't even let the volunteer aim and when she blew the dart...it punctured the actor's thigh. It punctured his flippin' main artery. Well I would imagine it wasn't a very sharp dart, but it was sooo funny. Oh yea, he didn't die or anything.

Okay I should probably get going on some homework, but before I leave...vote for angelina. you know she's better. =)

Hung - The Japanese Fanatic

Goooooood mornin' everyone, or afternoon, or whatever greeting is appropriate for the time that you will be reading this.

As everyone else who follows this blog should know by now, we ate SUSHI today!!!! at a place called Sakae Sushi, which I have now fallen in love with <3<3>

(Just to clarify, the hearts above is referring to my love towards Sakae Sushi not nothing else is meant to be implied, and no one is meant to be infuriated)

It has now been 5 hours since we ate at Sakae Sushi and I'm acutally still completely full. Tony isn't though. He is now eating instant noodles that we bought at a place called Fair Price,which is equivilant to Walmart, but a little smaller and a lot, and I mean A LOT, more air conditioned.

After we got back from heaven, and after I laid down on my bed, and after I gotten woken up by Tony laughing to himself a couple of times watching whatever he was watching, and after I took my nap (take note, that it was a dammmmmn good one), and after I recovered from "itis", whatever the heck that is, and after I got attacked on by two of my fellow exchange students (yes I do think I'm funny and Yes, in a matter of fact I am allergic to alcohol), two posts in a row... those bastards, lol. I watched a movie called "boy A".

Pretty random, but damn if you are ever looking for a good movie, that directors just never seem to be producing anymore, rent it, download it, or do whatever you please, sit back, grab a popcorn, and watch this unforgettable movie. I highly recommend it to everyone, young and old, female or male. The movie is so damn powerful, if I were a girl, not to be sexist or anything, I just might have permitted myself to cry. It surely is a daimond in the rough. However, if you do follow my advice and watch this movie, do yourself a favor and follow it a little more; don't read any of the synopsises or reviews or summaries about the movie or it will ruin the plot for you. Just watch it unknowingly and love it for what it is.

If you end up not liking it, there just might be something a little wrong with your head ... chemically. Ha ha, no just joking, to each their own right? But seriously if you don't like it, reply to this post with a better movie, because I'm obviousy missing out on something here.

Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I hope I'm keeping everyone well entertained and very interested. This is all for today though, have a nice day!

Dear Hung: you must think you are so funny. ha ha ha.

We went to dbl O last night, there were 3 separate clubs basically AND in one of them they played semi-country music :) :) !!!

This is where we were for the majority of the time only had some good music, the rest was Tony's noise. Tony had fun here though... got all up close & personal with some girl

This was the lounge with the good music, at one point they had their own singer singing.

Before heading out we went to Staff Club on campus, which is ridiculously packed and hot so we got Tiger beer.. and I only got it because I was thirsty and wanted to cool down so after a couple sips I got sick of it and guess who took it because she liked it ... :)

btw, to prevent any confusion if there was another person writing, this is "Toekie" and I. Before heading back, we went to a 24 hour hawker stall and had nasi lemak that was deelicious! When we got back to our dorm we wanted to shower before going to bed and I don't know if the hot water does not run that late or what, but there was no hot water so we had to take a cold shower which was not fun at all, sort of refreshing I guess, but still.

Today we went to eat sushi (yes I know, me eating japanese food lol) and the guys went nuts. I don't know how they can eat so much. The restaurant was pretty cool though :) and they had white chocolate dipped frozen strawberries for dessert, soo good! I think we are going to go do some more touristy stuff this weekend if it does not rain so that should be exciting.

PS. after we came back from eating, Chai had a 5 minute standoff with a spider that was invading her binder and agenda... she was just staring at it and squealing... haha
OH and another thing, Chai loves her purell, she'll get up to go somewhere in the middle of the night and I won't know but before she goes back to bed she'll use purell which I can smell so it's almost become a routine for me to be expecting to smell some purell everynight.

Here I am again, pretty much been bombarded by the others to post another thing on here because I apparently don't post that much, which is lies. But firstly thank you all for all the votes, and assurances (Jeff & others) that Team Aniston is the best...ever. Period.

SO! we finally went out to a club last night, Double O, where girls get everything free (bastards) and we have to pay 30bucks for cover and 12 bucks for a drink (or what ever denomination bill you give them because they wont give you the change..) but not to worry! there was at least 3-5 shots in my jug, yeah that's right you get a damm jug of what ever you order so its not too bad, AND you don't have to buy girls drinks! SNAP! The music was good I thought, very decent beats from David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Tiesto and others, and some hip hop as well. There was basically 2 parts to the club, the main one where everyone was dancing, drinking, and the other was pretty much chilled out with some pool tables and live music playing random crap that I didn't know, but was pretty relaxing.Please refer to photo and Hung, and his Redness, which is apparently caused by "allergies" towards alcohol

Sweat was pouring all around us and everyone was bumping around when we noticed a group of asian girls who were basically humping each other, my wingman (hung) was not very useful in distracting the mother hen from this group of mediocre asian girls, so I was denied with one of them when the mother hen pulled her away from me, which sucked ass =(, I miss you Daniel and Eric my favorite wing men(no homo). But whatever she was probably a lesbian and probably would have some type of asian lesbian orgy after or something. And honestly every asian girl there was like wasted beyond belief, we watched some girl walk and then just colapse on the floor! What ever. OH OH, before we went to the club we went to a bar on campus to meet up with all the exchange students who were all predrinking and what happened? Chai actually agreed to try some beer that we had thought we might as well try since we were in Singapore, but not only did she agree to try the Tiger beer, but she actually liked it! sorry for the darkness my camera blows at night.

Anyways we left around 2ish am and decided to go home, but we were all somewhat hungry and ended up striking up a conversation with our awesomely nice cab driver who took us to a hawker stall to eat coconut rice, chicken, fish and others, and the people there were really nice too, and the food? I didn't really like it but apparently it was really good stuff and cheap too 10bucks for all of us?

Blah sorry for the crappy pictures, I didn't take much, more are on Hungs camera i'll tell him to post when he wakes up, yes, hes sleeping, its 7pm and hes taking a damm nap. apparently everyone has the "itis" (urbandictionary if you don't know it), from our meal at Sakae Sushi, this time on campus which by the way, has that damm revolving sushi thingy. The meal was good and cheap 16 bucks for all you can eat! we are all stuffed, pretty sure the girls are sleeping too... Anyways the others will post pictures, im going to nap. blah.

Hung

We were looking for one of Chai-Ying's classes and I happened to get a phone call from my mother, so I was falling behind the group, and Debbie decided (... or maybe she was just to0 lazy to walk anymore, LOL) fell behind with me. There after, Debbie and I soon lost Tony and Chai-Ying, who where, by the way, zipping along at light-speed for some odd reason, so we decided to stop and wait while I finished my phone call with my mother. I was looking around randomly and then I see IT! Right there on one of the pillars was .....

... Yes! I kid you not! ONE OF THE BIGGEST MOTHS/BUTTERFLIES I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!!!

Seriously, that thing's wing span was almost as big as my head! And just the body itself was the size ... the size ... of a HOT DOG ... ZOMG HAHA!!! Me and Debbie debated for quite a while whether it was real or not. For a little, I was pretty convinced that it was fake but after examining this fine specimen up close and in detail, there was no way that it could have been fake. It was a genuine, all singaporian, freakishly big moth/butterfly.

We stared at it for the longest time and then a group of girls walked by and started to notice we were staring at this one stop, so they looked up as well and then for the next minute all I heard was "EWWWWWWWWW" and then many running foot steps of girls running away. Also, we kind of quickly exchanged greetings with two other exchange student from Switzerland who were also very interest in this bug. The guy, no idea what his name was, had a wicked SLR camera, I was so jealous. Anyways, here are a couple more pictures of this beast close up.

Pretty sweet hey? ... Oh and FYI the first picture of this post a was retake, because our first model, when told to "look and point" while I take a picture failed horribly, becaue it ended up as "I don't really want to be here and I don't really want to be too close to this ... thing ... EWWW."

Anyways, almost all 4 of us did not have class today because tutorials (that's like our seminars/labs) start next week, so we ended up spending the afternoon in the guys' room deciding where to go for our "reading week". We ended up deciding on Kota Kinabalu (KK)!!! We haven't booked the tickets/hotel yet, but we will be soon =). Well while Hung and I were going through some pictures we found online about KK, we stumbled upon an orangutan tour zoo thing. I'm sure most of you already know, but my goal of this trip is to take a picture with a baby orangutan! Hence, I started to flail my arms in excitement...and accidentally backhanded tony in the face. Sorry bud.

All of us knew that Hung was dying for Japanese food, so we all decided to go to Sakae Sushi for dinner. Hung didn't want to go to the one on campus because he wanted to see the little moving belt with all of the food and suggested we go to Jurong Point's Sakae Sushi. When we got there, we realized that Sakae Sushi was in Lot One (another mall). Ugh. Anyways, here are some pictures of Jurong Point--it's all Chinese New Year-ed up!

So for dinner we ended up going to The Red Lacquer, which was good...and a little bit embarassing. haha I'm sure someone else will blog about that...

So today was the first day of school and we had a tutorial at 9:30am but we were the only ones that showed up so I guess there are none on the first week (which is what we originally thought but someone convinced us otherwise :P).

These are the walkways around campus which is extremely useful for when it starts pouring without a warning! And it's even better when there's a breeze running through on a super hot day. However, the down side is if you are really tall you might get caught with spiderwebs hanging from the top :(

So Wednesdays are ladies nights here and I'm not sure if it's for all bars or just specific ones, but ladies get free cover and drinks (buahah anthong), whereas guys have to pay $25 cover .. but that comes with 1 drink... :)

I have 3 mosquito bites that are getting out of hand, they are turning ridiculously red and big. And I SWEAR I do not scratch them purposely (HUNG & TONY!!) I think it might be from using tiger balm them afterbite xtra.. haha
