..HAHAAHAAA
best drawings ever.

Chai-Ying

ughhh debbie and i went to eat today, and i had this tuna thing. i think i'm having some weird reaction to it because my face feels realllllllly warm and its realllly red. i look like i'm sunburnt or something. crap. this is like the time I was in Italy and I had that easter cake thing and my face and ears went red instantaneously. To combat this, i have wrapped my head and face in a cold towel, hopefully that will help. On the bright side, I look like a mummy!!! =) On the down side, I'm a little early for Halloween. =(

okay so back to filling ya'll in on our singaporean adventure. Friday was the last of exams for Hung and myself, and I guess Hung thought it would be funny to go into my room and scare me when I got home. Hung walked into our room and Debbie happened to be in the washroom, so I guess he was just chilling out on her bed. She walks in and doesn't even notice him...Hung goes "BOO!" and (apparently) Debbie flipped out. Here is my artistic rendition of waht happened:

hahahah.

I was lollygagging after my exam and went to get an ice-blended mango drink to reward myself for all my hardwork this semester (HAHAHHAH), and I guess Hung got tired of waiting to scare his second victim, and got Debbie to call me to see where I was. Epic fail.

Oh to backtrack a little: the night before my exam, Debbie asks me (or I thought she asked me) if I wanted to go for Sushi after my exam. I thought it was a good idea and agreed, I thought we were going to go to Sakae Sushi on campus and was telling her we should get those cute little salmon sashimi things cause they are sooo good. This was Debbies reaction:

Apparently she said "Shisha"
(Shisha = Hookah).

So that night, we went to this super pricy Persian restaurant in Clarke Quay to experiment with some Shisha. After a delicious meal of various types of meat and okra, we migrated to the "front patio" of the restaurant to start. I think we got an Apple flavoured one, everyone else seems to think it was Apple Cinnamon. It was only about $20, so it wasn't too bad. AND we got to watch some realllly awesome belly dancing/sword dancing/dancing on chair business. (SOMEONE demonstrated his belly dancing skills at the club later on...) Hung and Tony got the hang of Shisha really quickly, but it took Debbie and myself a little while to learn how to do it properly. We were total noobs, as everyone else that was doing it was so pro. But we finally got the hang of it! Sorry guys, I don't have any pictures but here's another artistic rendition of Debbie doing some Shisha:

Shisha.

Hmm so after that, we went to meet some friends at a popular club down by Vivo City (kinda by Sentosa) called St. James Powerhouse. Apparently the place has 9 bars that are connected. Neat hmm?! We stayed at the main club for the majority of the time because we had no idea there were 8 other bars until we went exploring! Haha. The place had good music to begin with and then lots of Tony-music to follow...it was alright. HAHA Oh man, there was this one guy that was sooo...out there. HAHA he was soo out of it and was dancing all over the place.

Hmm what else what else, Tony spilled beer on me TWICE. Hmm what else....oh! Tony and Jimin got on a platform and started dancing with a bunch of girls, but were asked to come down because the platforms are apparently strictly for girls. Good effort though.

Oh! There was a super awesome Mexican style club(as per Tony) that we finally got into. Well it was more of a problem for the guys, the age to get in for guys was 23 and for girls 21*. In the end, the guys just ended up walking past the bouncer dude. Sketch lol. We saw a lot of the NTU kids that we knew and had a blast! That particular place had really good music too! I would like to put it out there that whenever we hear a Bollywood type song, we always pretend we know it and go nuts. For what reason, I have no idea.

We finally left the club, and by the time we got home and got settled it was about 5! The guys had to get up early and catch their flight to KL, so they had to leave at about 8. I wonder if they got any sleep =/

So come Saturday, the boys left for KL early in the morning and Debbie and I went to the mall to look for a new pair of glasses for myself. My glasses broke earlier in the week for whatever reason, ugh. I have been wearing contacts all week, I don't know how you contact-wearers do it. Anyways, I got a pair and they will be ready Tuesday =)

As you guys can tell, I have no pictures from Friday night because they are all in KL with Hung. So...I hope you enjoyed my awesome pictures that I drew on Paint. HAHA

P.S. I love you Debbie, don't be mad =) HAHA.

Mr.Nham

***WARNING: prob very similar to what you have seen on facebook. i was forced to do this***

Thanks guys, you guys are awesome. I am not a big fat liar! I went to sleep somewhat early! sheesh.

ANYWAYS so here i am posting for all you guys god, better appreciate the work that we all put into this because its not that easy to blog because of the stupid formatting hahahaa. okay okay lets see,

SO starting from where Debbie left off, at the Escape theme park, Seriously it was on the other side of Singapore near the airport which is probably a hour and half train/bus ride to get there, but we did not have high expectations anyways, Debbie was dammed excited to go on her flippy upside down rides, but HA they were having maintenance done to them. burrn. Anyways it was like a billion degrees (hot and humid for the next 300 years)that day and we managed to go on some flying ride thing where you lay down and fly like superman its pretty sweet cept its meant for kids, anyways Chai was having a mild breakdown about going on the ride because she was worried that she would get sick, ahahaha, thankfully Hung was able to pressure her into doing the ride and guess what, she was FINE, what a big baby. *tear*

Next we went on the swinging ship, you know the one you see at WEM but the non-upside down one for kids, oh man, this was honestly the best and funniest ride I personally have gone on in a while. We decided to sit midway and across from us was a family, the ride started and seriously I cant even explain their emotions as the ride progressed, they were all huddled together as if they were going to fall of the ride any second and the little kid, every time their side went down he would scream/cry...as would the rest of the family who is now like holding on to each other. Oh man we could not stop laughing... hahahaha damm

After that we jumped over to the log ride and as you read before, the sky began to drop and the ride shutdown. We then just grabbed something to eat, got our free pass to the park, and decided to head over to the new mall that just opened up Tampines 1, (pronounced Tam-pine-ees)

...Asia+new+mall=hell

seriously this mall was so ridiculously packed that i didn't even know where to go, they were like letting people go on the escalators in sections since at the end it was so full and there was no more room for new people, my god, and the new Uniglo or what ever which is some store like a Japanese H&M had a line that apparently was about 45minuites to get in, screw that crap. so we left and crossed the street to another superly packed mall called Tampines Mall or something like that. I don't know what we did after but I'm assuming we went home and slept. god i hate packed malls.

That Sunday Hung and I let the girls decide where to go since we did not want to stay in due to the limited amount of time we have left (I ONLY HAVE..4 DAYS LEFT IN SINGAPORE, AHHHHH). And we ended up hitting up the science center, which was pretty sweet but we only had 2 hours or something like that to get through the whole thing. Chihung like stayed at each station for like ever and had to analyse it and fully understand the meaning before they moved on, oh man, Debbie and I just looked and moved on, But while waiting for them we decided to take part in this interactive puzzle thing with the workers there, damm it was pretty much like put all these cubes into the box (the box being too small so you would have to put it in at certain angles), we didn't do too well, after a few tries the kid who was working there thought we were dumb foreigner's and offered us the answer, Debbie decided to comment that probably not a lot of people got the answer but apparently according to the dood, a lot of people do, bah. BUT we redeemed our selfs when he offered us a different puzzle game and got the answer in like a few minutes! WOOO.

Yeah, that was that, and we went to some IMAX movie "Sea Monsters" or something, and it was normal, but debbie kept persisting that the chairs in the theatre had to move and such, but they didn't Hung however offered to shake them throughout the movie. ahahaha priceless.

CHICKEN RICE at Jurong East Blows. but its Chicken Rice. WOOOOO I LOVE IT!!!

The following week i had two exams and we didn't do much. But Thursday night we all got together in our dorm to figure out where we going the next day, Options were Tioman Island in Malaysia, Bintan in Indonesia or Pualu Ubin in Singapore.
Originally we were supposed to go to Tioman and the travel agent we were talking to via email would book all our stuff for us like transport and ferries and etc (its a long crappy trip to Tioman, need to take a bus, cab, ferry all that junk) but Chai was too sketched out about the travel agent so we cancelled it, Chai and I were busy trying to figure out where we could go while the other 2 where busy reading their damm Buffy the Vampire crap. ARGG lol. SO i found this place called "Shady Shack" where some dood named Lobo had built a few shacks on the beach beside his residence and we could live with him, but we were to sketched out and opted for a more should we say commercialized one lol, the Yasin Bungalows at Trikora Beach, Bintan, Indonesia.

First things first man, it was situated in the middle of no where which a few huts and such built in the water, wow so nice. There was nothing to do there but watch the tide come in and out (which was awesome have you seen a tide come in and out? its ridiculous the place will look like a dessert and then a few hours later its an ocean again, SWEET).

So we didn't do much there but just hangout play some chess, eat, drink, and relax before the exams. It was really sweet cept that hung and I got like 50 billion ant bites all over our body, BAH couldn't sleep that night. damm Ants or what ever gave us the kajillion red dots all over our body. Oh yeah the bug nets over the beds had huge holes in them too, wonderful..
Our friend Bob

We opted for the 2 storey bungalow that was situated just off the beach thing, and had the bare essentials, such as manual flush toilet, no hot water, and 2 lights, but come on we paid like 50bucks (which was apparently $400,000 rupiahs) between us 4 for it, ridiculous.

I woke up for the damm sunrise (waking hung up on the way) but it turns out it was damm cloudy, BAH, but we still got some sweet pics none the less.

Attack of the hair, We call it Medusa, It comes out when ever strong winds are present, and has a life of its own, it indeed is quite scary..Beware.

After we came back we all had exams and began to study/cram/youtube or what ever we did, and are almost done! I don't know what the others did today but I went out to go eat with some friends at Yum Cha Dimsum - EH its mediocre food, but yeah...

Chinatown and Downtown, New and Old, its pretty nice.

PS-We still have A LOT of bugs in our room, now with the ants, there are fruit flies everywhere and these things, my god, I may have eaten one, i chewed something crunchy when i was sleeping in the middle of the night, AHH DAMMIT

EVA has been proven to be a very effective way of determining how efficient a company is and it is for the long-term interest of the company that it uses EVA,' said Mr Lim Chin Beng, chairman of the executive resource and compensation committee. It will be run over two days, June 28 and 29, and involve schoolchildren, families, community leaders and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong too.

Debbie

Hello, I hear it's snowing in Edmonton again ... which I think is cool since I miss it, haha but I guess not for you guys... so just to make you feel a little better (keep in mind I hate rain)..

here we are in our lovely $2 ponchos in a freak rainstorm that came so suddenly while we were at Escape amusement park. The picture does not justify the amount of rain that fell, we were in line for the log ride... but it got shut down due to the rain :( and that was the end of our day at the amusement park.

BETTER SNOW THAN RAIN.. is that I personally think!

ps. we're starting to count down .. :( the guys have less than 1 month left in Asia, while Chai & I have 2. so sad!

pps. instead of studying, we (Chai & I) are watching Korean music videos on youtube... haha what have we become??!?!? =/

Debbie

So continuing on, on Wednesday we met up with Sauman for lunch and headed out to the Singapore Flyer, I believe they got the idea from the London Eye. Students get a discount on weekdays if you show your ID but Chai forgot to bring hers..crazy huh? The motherly one forgot! so we had to talk our way into it.. haha. The viewing box (the best word Chai & I came up with) that we were in was really nice and big, oh and before us there were 3 people in line, two of them were together and the worker lady asked the one person if she wanted to join the other two in front and so they all went into the same one, which the couple was not expecting. so we were saying how awkward it would've been if the guy brought his girl there to propose... haha. The whole ride was 30 minutes, but it seemed a lot faster, the view wasn't the greatest since there was a lot of construction going on, but it was still nice to see I guess.

After that we went back to campus, got ready and headed out again cause we were planning to go to a grand opening of some bar, but we were to late and went to New Asia Bar instead, it was on the 70th floor at the Swiss Hotel, going on the elevator our ears popped, and the view from there was nicer than from the Singapore Flyer. We met up with Jimin and met some Canadians on exchange as well, and a couple other interesting people...

We then went to Dbl O for ladies night, don't know if the guys were too happy with having to spend $30 for cover, but they didn't complain. This is our second time there and it wasn't as crowded but I still didn't enjoy the music very much..though I did like the music downstairs a lot better, but it was so crowded there. Hung found a watch on the floor and gave it to some girl... haha it made for an awkward moment. mm played some pool, sat around, went back to the club (there's 3 sections in the building, 2 clubs and 1 lounge-ish area). We left when the bar was closing and went to McDonalds for a snack and then headed home.

The next day, we woke up pretty late and decided to watch a movie so we went to see what movies were on and decided on Handsome Suit. If you're planning to watch it then don't read the following...
It's a Japanese movie about a not so attractive guy who likes a pretty girl but when he tells her he loves her because of her physical appearance she says she's disappointed. So he ends up with this suit that makes him handsome while the girl gets a suit that makes her not so attractive since she wanted people to see her for who she is and not how she looks, and yada-yada in the end they get rid of the suits and get together. Yeah, I didn't like it too much.. but I guess there were some funny parts.

Soo since I don't have pictures of the next day it's one of the guys' turn to finish.

Good luck on your exams... have fun studying :) as should we..
